Meet Danielle Fraser

Owner & Instructor, Yoga on Beacon

Hi, I’m Danielle, and I’m the proud new owner of Yoga on Beacon. It’s an honor to continue the legacy of this beloved Beacon Hill community studio, a space that has welcomed so many with its warmth, creaky hardwood floors, and sunlight streaming through the windows.

How I Found Yoga on Beacon

My story with Yoga on Beacon began in 2022, when my dear friend Heather—who lives in the neighborhood—invited me to teach a yoga class for her company’s team event. The moment I stepped into the studio, I felt something special. I didn’t live anywhere near Beacon Hill at the time, but I remember thinking, “One day, I’m going to teach here.”

Fast forward a year later: my now-husband and I moved just down the street from the studio. When I saw an opening for instructors on Instagram, I applied immediately and was thrilled to join the teaching team. Eight months into teaching, I knew I wanted to make a deeper investment. I emailed the studio’s founder, Sarah, with a proposal to become an investor—and to my surprise, she replied that she’d love for me to own it.

Becoming a studio owner has always been a dream of mine. This opportunity felt like fate aligning. My vision is to honor the traditions that make Yoga on Beacon so special while continuing to elevate the member experience, support our teachers’ growth, and deepen our roots as a true community hub on Beacon Hill.

My Journey with Yoga

I first found yoga in college in Tallahassee, where a local instructor taught classes right out of her living room. At the time, I was navigating several family tragedies and searching for something to ground me. Yoga became that steady place—a way to process, heal, and reconnect with myself. It’s been my lifelong companion ever since, traveling with me through every chapter and every move.

As an instructor, I strive to create classes that are inclusive, accessible, and nurturing, where everyone feels seen and supported. Teaching yoga—and now owning a studio—is one of the greatest joys of my life.

A Little More About Me

I’m originally from Jamaica, and my family immigrated to the U.S. when I was young. I spent much of my life in Florida, where I studied fashion and even opened my own clothing boutique. After a brief stint in New York City, I moved to South Korea to teach English, then pursued graduate school in Atlanta and Hong Kong.

While in Hong Kong, I was offered a position at Nordstrom’s corporate office, which brought me to Seattle. I never expected to settle here, but after meeting my husband and building a life in Beacon Hill, Seattle truly became home—it’s now the longest I’ve lived anywhere.

Today, I’m grateful to blend all those experiences into what I do: cultivating a yoga community that celebrates diversity, balance, and belonging right here on Beacon Hill.
